AR launches second skill development prog

Aimed at empowering the youth of Manipur, Assam Rifles inaugurated the second batch of Skill Development Programme on Hospitality and Retail Management at Sanjeevani, here on Thursday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that participants of the programme will be awarded with certificates accredited by National Skill Development Corporation.
In its efforts towards up-skilling the local youth, AR had conducted first Skill Development Programme on Hospitality and Retail domains from June 24 to September 24.Out of 89 participants of the first batch, 58 were eligible for employment.
In a landmark achievement all 58 eligible candidates have been selected for employment in renowned hotels/malls across the nation.
The conduct of first Skill Development Programme was a collaborative effort between the Assam Rifles and We Care Skill Solutions.
The PRO continued that having witnessed the success of first Skill Develop ment Programme, several youths expressed keen interest and requested continuation of the initiative by the AR.
The second Skill Development Programme, a collaborative initiative of AR, We Care Skill Solutions and Sunbird Trust, is a 12-week course up to January 3, 2025.The programme includes several participants from the IDP relief camps, thereby addressing the requirement of rehabilitation for victims of the ethnic clashes that Manipur has been witnessing since May 3, 2023.The release further informed that during the event, senior officials of AR congratulated the participants who were selected after an elaborate screening process and encouraged them to make best use of the opportunity.
They highlighted that in the upcoming weeks, the participants will receive hands-on training and mentorship in the key aspects of hospitality and retail management.
To enhance their prospects for securing employment in the hospitality and retail sectors, endeavour will be made by the organisers for placement by linking up with reputed organisations across the nation, they assured.
