AR holds Nutrition Week, medical camp

World Nutrition Week was observed at Assam Rifles Hospital (M) from September 2 to 7 to raise awareness about importance of nutrition in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that under the guidance of a paediatrician, the week-long observance focused on raising awareness about the unique nutritional needs of children, ensuring that they receive the essential nutrients for healthy development.
A total of 94 children were assessed and examined by the paediatrician out of whom 25 children were found to have nutritional deficiencies.
These children and their parents were advised on balanced diet, comprehensive care and guidance for their well-being, it added.
Meanwhile, Assam Rifles of IGAR (S) organised a medical camp in the remote village of Wahong, Ukhrul district on Tuesday, enabling the locals to access basic medical facilities as well as also facilitating examination of locals with health conditions by the doctors.
Over 150 villagers from Wahong village and nearby areas were examined and provided with basic medication, the PRO said in another release.
