Imphal, October 08 2024:
Assam Rifles, in coordination with Army Aviation, reportedly provided critical emergency medical support by airlifting 12-year-old girl Lunhoihching of Hebron Veng in Churachandpur district early on Tuesday.
According to PRO IGAR (S), following an accident on October 3, Lunhoihching suffered a severe Grade V injury to her right kidney according to the AAST scale.
Urgent surgical intervention was necessary, but the District Hospital in Churachandpur lacked the specialised urological care and facilities required.
Her condition worsened despite treatment, prompting swift action.
Approved by doctors for travel in a seated position, Lunhoihching's vital signs were evaluated by the Assam Rifles medical team, who coordinated with the district administration and Army Aviation for an urgent air evacuation to Guwahati.
Early on October 8, Lunhoihching and her mother were safely evacuated, ensuring she received critical care.
The family expressed deep gratitude for the compassionate and timely support provided by Assam Rifles and Army Aviation, said the PRO in a release.
