Under the aegis of the JAC formed by the employees' bodies and as announced earlier, MSPCL, MSPDCL, Manipur Electricity Employees' Union and MOA have commenced their series of agitation including cease work strike in pursuance of the demand for implementation of 7th Central Pay Commission from Wednesday.
The employees organised sit-in protest in front of power house at Keishampat on Wednesday.
Interacting with the media at the protest site, JAC convener Takhellambam Shyamnagar said that they have been demanding the government to implement 7th CPC for electricity employees.
While announcing that they will go ahead with the agitation of closing down the prepaid counters, corporate offices and division offices from Thursday onwards in case there is no positive response from the government, he further said that cease work agitation will follow if the government does not take up necessary initiatives within 10 days.
During the period of agitation, the employees will not attend to any maintenance and repair work and it will further lead to power shut down protest, if needed, he cautioned.
