World Red Cross Day observance underway

Imphal, April 08 2024: Month long observance of World Red Cross Day organised by Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur State Branch got underway at the Society's complex on Monday.

A release issued by Indian Red Cross Society, Manipur informed that the inaugural programme was attended by social scientist Dr IS Konthoujam as chief guest, social activist Dr Swarnakumar Thingbaijam as guest of honour and Indian Red Cross Society Manipur chairman Narendra Ningomba as functional president.

During the programme, a discourse on 'Red Cross activities in the present situation of the state' was conducted with social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram and social activist Kiran Yendrembam as resource persons.

The month long observance will include first aid training, voluntary blood donation awareness and camp, painting competition, recitation programme, quiz competition, folk song competition and leaders meet, IRCS Manipur informed.
