Demanding both the ruling and opposition parties to join hands and declare a stand in connection with the present unrest in the state, Youth of Manipur (YOM) chairman Sinthangamba Lourembam has cautioned that youth of the land may resort to protest similar to the one witnessed in Bangladesh.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club here on Saturday, Sinthangamba questioned why the BJP government, who could even send Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal to jail, failed to take action against the 10 Kuki MLAs who are trying ti disrupt the integrity of Manipur.
As there are claims of foreign hands in the present conflict, one needs to ask whether the duty of central forces is to protect Indians from the Kuki terrorists or not, he said.
He demanded that if the central forces do not want engage with the Kuki terrorists, they should surrender their weapons to the village volunteers.
Alternatively, if they 're unwilling to relinquish their weapons, they should remain in their bunkers enjoying free salaries until the conflict is resolved.
The people of Manipur will not complaint in the matter.
So, central forces should give a clear statement on this regard or else, youth of the land are prepared to launch intense protest against them, he cautioned.
