Sangh to air farmers' woes to PM

Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, Manipur Prant general secretary T Dara has said that a memorandum enumerating demands of farmers will be submit ted to the Prime Minister through the DCs concerned on Wednesday.
The secretary also cautioned that the Sangh would launch different forms of agitations if the government fails to give a positive response to the memorandum within ten days.
Addressing media persons in this regard at Manipur Press Club here on Tuesday, T Dara said that the Sangh has been raising issues of farmers across the country and supporting efforts to improve existing system including doubling income for farmers and minimum support price for farm produces.
A meeting in this regard was held on August 7 and 8 and the resolutions adopted including demands of the farmers were forwarded to the Prime Minister through a memorandum on August 11 .
However, there has been no response from the Prime Minister till date and this prompted the Sangh to take another decision to submit reminder memorandum to the Prime Minister through DC concerned of every district of the country.
Accordingly, state unit of the Sangh has also made preparations for submitting the same memorandum to DCs of all districts of the state on Wednesday, Dara disclosed.
According to Dara, the memorandum would highlight several problems being faced by farmers of the state including shortage of urea and minimum support price for if arm produces.
The memorandum will be submitted to DCs on Wednesday and farmers will come out to the streets if the Central government fails to give any response within ten days, he added.
