Tree plantation campaign held at RIMS

Imphal, August 04 2024:
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal in collaboration with Forest Department, Manipur and Rotary Club of Imphal organised a mass tree plantation programme as a part of "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign on Sunday at RIMS Dental college campus.
A release issued by RIMS informed that the campaign was initiated under a programme of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for planting 80 crore saplings by September, 2024 and 140 crore by March 2025, following a "Whole of Government" and "Whole of Society approach".
Speaking on the occasion, RIMS director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma urged everyone to come forward to plant tree in the name of our mother during the month long campaign to be conducted at different locations of the RIMS campus.
Expressing that mother earth can be saved through mass plantation of trees and stop using plastic in the environment, he advised the medical students to take active role in activities relating to saving the world.
The programme was attended by RIMS CAO/FA S Sarat Singh, HODs, RIMS Dental College principal, faculty members, Forest Department personnel, and staff and students of RIMS.
