Ahead of 1-Day security measures beefed up

Imphal, August 04 2021: In view of the upcoming Independence Day celebration, Imphal West district police beefed up security measures by conducting search operations in different parts of the district on Wednesday.

According to a police re port, a team of City police station led by DSP (ops) A Thomba Singh conducted search operation from 7.30 am to 9.30 am at Man Road Crossing, Rupmahal Tank, Kasturi, Alu Galli and Ngari Galli areas of Imphal.

In all, 230 people were detained for checking out of which seven people who failed to produce their identity cards were taken to City police station for further verification.

On the other hand, an Imphal PS team led by DSP (Commando) Y Kishorechand conducted search operation from 8 am to 9.30 am at Keishampat Thiyam Leikai during which 100 houses were searched and 150 people including bail outs were verified.

There is no report of any arrest made during the operation, it added.
