Rotary Club celebrates Foundation Day

Imphal, October 31 2021:
As part of his visit to the state, Rotary International District governor Dr Mohan Shyam Konwar assessed the various activities of the Club on Sunday.
Dr Mohan Konwar was accompanied by his wife Minu and assistant governor (Zone-IX) Sanjay Agarwal.
He also attended the 49th Foundation Day of Rotary Club held at its Bhavan in Mantripukhri.
During the function, various awards and scholarships along with the prizes for the 46th Rotary Spot Painting Competition-2021 were distributed.
The prizes for the Spot Painting Competition were awarded to Daulas Lambamayum (St George School, Wangkhei), Prescila Heikrujam (Kendriya Vidyalaya), Martin Tongbram (Pitambara English School), Julian Thoidingjam (Kendriya Vidyalaya), Lanleiba Sinam (Ramakrishna Mission School, Imphal) and Toijam Ghanashyam (Bal Vidya Mandir, Palace Compound).
In addition, the M Ibobi Me morial Award for Rotary Traffic , Personnel was awarded to Asem Bima; Th Ibomcha Memorial Award for Rotary Nurse to Maibam Ranita; Sripal Chand Jain Memorial Award for Rotary Fireman to Md Khalig Majumdar; Shri Bhuramal Keshliwal Memorial Award for Rotary Media Person to Soubam Bokuljaoba (Sangai Express); Rotarian Vijay Jain Memorial Award for Rotary Sports Person to Olympian Sh Nilakanta; and Senator Okram Memorial Rotary Footballer of the Year to Suresh Singh Wangjam.
Later, wheelchairs were presented to two senior citizens, while Sinam Tomchou Singh Memorial Distribution of Hearing Aid was presented to 5 people.
The Sagolsem Jugol Memorial Scholarship was awarded to four students of Ideal Blind School, while Oja Sagolsem Indramani Memorial Scholarship was presented to two students staying at Children Home, Dewlahland.
