Imphal, December 31 2021: Manipur State Akademi organised the Hijam Anganghal Singh Memorial Lecture-2020-21 at the artiste dormitory hall of Directorate of Art and Culture, Palace Compound here on Friday.

During the programme, which was presided over by Manipur Sahitya Akademi awardee Lohgjam Joychandra, renowned critic Prof Polem Nabachandra Singh delivered a lecture on "Literary Culture: Oral and Retained".

Nabachandra mentioned that the literary movement of the state, starting from the historical times to the present, has helped form the basis of interpersonal communication, encourage reading and publication of books.

He then said that the literary wealth of the state has helped bring recognition to the state.

Later, floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Hijam Anganghal Singh.
