Decks cleared for tripartite talks at Senapati

Senapati, November 28 2024:
As per a notice from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India, all preparations have been made for the next round of tripartite talk on Friday comprising the Govt of India, Govt of Manipur and the United Naga Council (UNC) on the issue of creation of new districts.
It may be mentioned that the United Naga Council has been demanding roll back of the creation of seven new districts in the State.
Government delegates for the tripartite talk may include AK Mishra, Advisor, NE from the Govt of India, Chief Secretary, Manipur, Commissioner (Home) and one SIB official, sources said.
The UNC may be led by its president and general secretary, its working committee members, presidents of All Naga Students Association, Manipur ANSAM), Naga Women's Union and Naga Peoples' Organization.
The meeting is scheduled to start at 10 am on Friday at DC Conference Hall.
