Trust extends aid to martyrs' kids

Imphal, February 27 2024: Wings of Hope Charitable Trust, founded by retired army personnel, has extended financial assistance and gifts to children of martyrs of the current conflict for ensuring continuation of their education.

The financial assistance was distributed in a solemn function held at Wangkhei Bhandari Mandav, here, on Sunday morning.

Retired colonel Amrit Gopal Singh Koijam, retired colonel SK Sharma, retired lieutenant colonel ON Singh, retired lieutenant colonel K Ibohal and Trust president Lieutenant Colonel L Manongba attended the function.

According to Manongba, the assistance was provided through contributions pooled in by the Trust members and other personnel of Indian Air Force, Indian Army other paramilitary forces and friends.

Altogether 21students were selected for the assistance to assist them in buying uniforms, books and stationery items among others.

The Trust is making effort to cover around 100 families, who have lost their near and dear ones in the crisis, he added.
