NIT team visits APS, NSG Hub & Eco Park Kolkata

The 20 students of Machi GoVt High School, who are currently on a National Integration Tour (NIT) to Kolkata organised by Modi Battalion of IGAR (South) and flagged off on February 22 visited Army Public School (APS), Kolkata on Sunday among other locations.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that APS, Kolkata is one of the premier institutions in India that trains young boys and girls to become leaders in various fields and is known for its rigorous academic curriculum, co-curricular activities, games and physical fitness and character development.
Students of APS Kolkata welcomed the NIT team with a multi-cultur al programme.
As a return gesture, the talented girls of Machi Govt High School performed an impromptu dance performance which left everyone spellbound.
Students witnessed demonstrations in the APS' state-of-the-art science laboratories, got hands-on to the modern IT equipment and the 'Atal Tinkering Lab' instituted under the Atal Innovation Mission which exposed the students to innovations conceptualised by the students of APS.
The NIT team also visited National Security Guard (NSG) Hub at Kolkata on Sunday.
NSG conducted a unique event for young students from Manipur.
The showcase events included display of weapons, dog show featuring trained canines and demonstration of rappelling techniques by NSG commandos.
The event was designed to provide the students with a glimpse of the NSG's capabilities and to encourage them to consider careers in the Armed Forces.
The students were thrilled to witness the NSG's professionalism and expertise.
The event also had a strong focus on national integration, with the NSG highlighting the importance of unity and diversity in India.
The students were encouraged to ask questions from the NSG commandos and the event provided an opportunity for them to learn about the challenges and opportunities of working in the security sector.
The team on Sunday also visited Eco Park, Kolkata which is one of the largest urban parks in India and is popular for its lush greenery and breathtaking views.
The children were excited to see the various sections of the park with variety of flora and fauna, including over 100 species of plants and trees, several species of birds and butterflies, and a large number of fish and other aquatic creatures.
The students experienced an exemplary sensory experience, with its vibrant colours and mesmerising fragrances which is definitely one-of its-kind experience for them.
They also expressed that they were amazed by the beauty of the park and would cherish the memories of their visit forever.
