Sit-in staged, resolutions adopted

Imphal, April 23 2022: In connection with the case of one Shamom ningol Ningthoujam ongbi Chingkheinganbi (25) w/o Ningthoujam Bijando, who was found dead at Khordak Awang Leikai under Mayang Imphal PS on April 21; members of local clubs and Meira Paibi associations of Arong Khunjao, Arong Khunou and Khordak, along with the JAC, staged a sit-in protest at Arong Khunjao Panthoibi Shanglen on Saturday.

As part of the protest, a rally was also taken during which slogans were raised demanding strict punishment of the culprit(s), while also raising suspicions of foul play.

After the rally, a public meeting was organised wherein various resolutions were adopted.

The resolutions include not claiming the body until the truth is revealed, registering a case for investigation into the death and urging the CM to look into the matter.

Mention may be made here that the post mortem examination of Chingkheinganbi was conducted at RIMS morgue on Friday.

However, the body is yet to be claimed.

Mayang Imphal PS has already registered a case and investigation is underway.
