'Meeyamgi Numit' organised at relief camp

District administration, Thoubal organised 'Meeyamgi Numit' for internally displaced persons (IDPs) at the relief camp set up at District Sports Complex, Wangjing Kodompokpi on Tuesday, which provided various facilities to IDPs including those from Tengnoupal and Kakching districts.
During the event, stalls of various departments including Health, Education, Panchayati Raj, Social Welfare, PHED, MSPDCL and CAF&PD, etc., were opened at the relief camp to redress the grievances of the public.
The programme was attended by Thoubal deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subash, Kakching DC Rohit Anand, Thoubal ADM B Lokeshwor Sharma and other subordinate staff along with other department officers.
Speaking in connection with the function which saw around 250 persons waiting to file their complaints, Thoubal DC A Subhash stated that a special 'Meeyamgi Numit' was held in the relief camp, at the direction of chief minister N Biren Singh for addressing the issues faced by IDPs.
He also mentioned that as most of the IDPs in the camp were from Moreh, representatives from Tengnoupal DC also attended the programme to redress their grievances with documents such as birth certificate and cards of various government schemes being issued on the spot.
Speaking to media per sons, one of the beneficiary IDPs, thanked the CM, DC Thoubal and government officials for organising such a programme at the relief camp and appealed to the government to resolve the ongoing crisis at the earliest so that they can return to their homes.
