Akampat, Porompat relief camps inspected

Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (RD&PR) special secretary Sornorjit Salam visited Akampat relief camp around 2 pm on Thursday and interacted with the people displaced from Moreh and Churachandpur, inquiring about the challenges and inconveniences they were facing.
Among other issues, the camp residents highlighted difficulties related to potable water, old age pension, job card, rooms for students, rice distribution and blankets for the elderly, to which the special secretary assured to look into their grievances as soon as possible.
Later, he visited the Porompat Veterinary relief camp accompanied by Laishram Dolie Devi, joint secretary (Higher & Technical Educa-tion/Social Welfare &SCERT); Elangbam Sonia, joint secretary (Education-S &Sericul-ture); Bantee Singh Konthoujam, joint secretary (Social Welfare/Director/MEETAC/Additional Director/IT); and Dr A Chinglenkhomba Meitei, joint secretary (Education-S).
He also visited the relief camps of Imphal East district to monitor the functioning of the relief camps.
The team was assisted by field nodal officers K James Singh, SDC/Bashikhong and W Jiban Meetei, SK/SDC/Porompat.
