TDCC protests ED action against Rahul Gandhi

Thoubal, June 17 2022: Thoubal District Congress Committee (TDCC) on Friday staged a protest in front of the office of District Block Congress, Thoubal Athokpam claiming that baseless charges are being levelled by Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Congress party president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

The protestors also decried use of excessive police force against Congress workers and weaponization of the police by the BJP against the.

opposition parties and leaders who are critical of the misgovernance of the BJP government.

The protestors who included Khangabok MLA Surjakumar Okram and party workers from the district raised slogans and displayed banners inscribed with slogans denouncing BJP government during the protest.

Speaking during the protest, MLA Surjakumar alleged that instead of solving rising unemployment, inflation and implementing promises it had made during the time of election, the BJP government at the centre is trying to mislead the people of the country by framing Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

Stating that the centre should cease its vendetta politics, he informed that such protests will be held in every district until justice is done.
