Imphal, February 17 2025: ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Imphal West under ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, organised a held day at Maklang Makha Leikai community hall on Monday.

As per a release of KVK, Imphal West, the event, which focused on 'Rapeseed & Mustard var Ts-38 for Enhancing Oilseed Production in Imphal West District under Cluster Front Line Demonstration' was attended by ICAR-Manipur Centre head Dr Ch Basudha Devi, KVK Imphal West senior scientist & head Dr Laishram Kanta Singh and Yalem Sangai Singh, an innovative farmer of the village as members on the dais.

In their addresses, Dr Basudha emphasised the role of KVK and ICAR-Manipur in improving the socio-economic conditions of farmers while Dr Kanta highlighted the significance of cluster front line demonstrations in bbosting oilseed and pulse production, particularly during the 'Rabi' season, to enhance farmers' income and employment opportunities while increasing the district's cropping intensity.

The release further informed that the farmers from Maklang and Kachikhul cluster villages shared their feedback on technology transfer and demonstration for further improvements.

The event was participated by 68 attendees, including 60 farmers from the two cluster villages.
