Imphal, August 14 2021:
Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) has said that it will initiate legal actions against Yambem Laba, special correspondent of The Statesman, for levelling baseless allegations against MLA Khumukcham Joykisan and tarnishing image of the legislator.
Addressing a press meet on Saturday, TAKDO advisor Maibam Inakhunbi said that MLA Joykisan joined Congress following a unanimous decision of all the members of TAKDO.
The organisation sees the baseless allegations over the matter as a political conspiracy to discredit the MLA, who is the chief patron of the organisation, and TAKDO will urge the MLA to take up legal actions against Laba, she said.
TAKDO joint secretary Wangkhem Lokendro said that it has been waiting for counter steps from Congress party since the allegation equally hurts the image of the party.
Joykisan has been taking up several welfare activities for the public ever since he joined Congress party.
TAKDO does not take the allegations levelled by a person, who tried to contest election as a candidate of a political party, lightly.
The organisation also takes seriously the allegations of stashing black money in Swiss bank levelled against CLP leader Okram Ibobi earlier, he said.
Joykisan was made to join politics by TAKDO upon seeing his public service for Thangmeiband as well as the whole state.
TAKDO will decide his political affiliation and he is okay with it.
Since Congress party is not taking up any action against Yambem Laba, TAKDO will initiate legal action, he added.
