Training prog on 'children with disabilities' conducted

With the stated objective to aid children with disabilities and their caregivers access holistic support and services most suitable and appropriate to their needs, World Vision India organised a training programme on "Reporting & referral mechanism for children with disability and caregivers" on Saturday at Panchayat Bhavan, Mekola.
In a release, CDF-World Vision India, Imphal West-ADP informed that a total of 48 participants including clients, caregivers and CBO members attended the programme held with Lairenjam Meijrao GP pradhan T Man-glemba Singh, Kodompokpi GP pradhan Th Nandakumar Singh, Handicapped Development Foundation (HDF) Manipur chairman Dr Sapam Jasowanta Singh and Imphal West-ADP, World Vision India coordinator Doren Heisnam as presidium members.
Delivering the keynote address, Doren stressed the need for providing training to the caregivers for better understanding of children with disabilities and avail relevant services.
He also called upon clubs, Meira Paibi groups, NGOs, Panchayati Raj institutes and local MLA to extend all possible assistance to mitigate hardships and inconvenience faced by such children.
