Imphal, October 11 2024:
All Manipur Tribals Development Grievances Forum (AMTDGF) has voiced strong resentment against alleged indifferent attitude of the state government towards the job card holders of Manipur.
In a release, AMTDGF contended that the state government has been overlooking the need to provide/release pending entitlements to job card holders under MGNREGA.
The government is yet to release the state's share which is mandatory under MGNREGA and also failed to ensure 100 days of work as per the MGNREGA guidelines.
Recalling that the forum had appealed to the state government through a letter addressed to the RD minister, it expressed strong resentment that the government is yet to respond positively to mitigate suffering of the job card holders of Manipur.
Further reminding the state government about the Ministry of Rural Development sanctioning an amount of Rs 39,70,03,000 as central assistance towards material and administrative contingency on June 11, 2024 and another package of Rs 6,90,83,560 for payment of wages under MGNREGA via order June 14, 2024, it appealed to the state government to release the pending fund under MGNREGA at the earliest.
In case of continuous denial of rights of the job card holders then the Forum would not remain as mere spectators but resort to agitation against the government.
