Senapati body asks owners to collect removed sand

Senapati District Truck Owners' Association spokesperson K Adari Mao has informed owners to collect the sand offloaded from their 'overloaded' sand ferrying trucks within a week and said that the associations involved in removing sand will not be responsible after the stipulated time.
According to K Adari Mao, Senapati District Truck Owners' Association in coordination with Manipur Drivers' Association, Senapati District Truck Drivers' Union, All Manipur Gorkha Drivers and Truck Owners' Union and Dimapur Truck Owners' Association has been conducting road, driver and vehicle safety campaign.
Accordingly, overloaded sand ferrying trucks coming from Dimapur side were checked and removed overloaded sand in support of the government norms.
However, the removed sand are now being recollected by truck owners and truck owners concerned can recollect the remaining sand within a week and no claim after the stipulated time will be entertained.
Dimapur Truck Owners' Association vice president Kisheto Sumi also said that removal of sand from overloaded trucks was done for the safety of the road, drivers and trucks and the Nagaland based association supports road safety drive carried out by transport associations of Manipur.
He then appealed to truck owners not to overload sand.
