Zeliangrong bodies condole demise of Diswang

Imphal, July 11 2024:
Zeliangrong United Committee, Manipur Valley (ZUCMV); Zeliangrong Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland); Zeliangrong Women Union (ZWU); Kabui Mothers' Association Manipur (KAMA); and Zeliangrong Football Association (ZEA) condoled the untimely demise of social activist N Diswang Hau in a road accident on the way to Kohima, Nagaland on Wednesday.
In a release, ZUCMV described N Diswang Hau as an ardent social activist having clear vision for Zeliangrong solidarity.
During his stint as president of All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) from 1996 to 2003, he worked, tirelessly for the unity and solidarity of the kindred tribes - Zeme, Liangmei,'Rongmei (Kabui), Inpui, ZUCMV informed and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace in the heavenly abode while sharing the pain and grief of the bereaved family.
In another joint release, ZU (AMN), ZWU, KAMA and ZEA said Diswang was dedicated and farsighted Zeliangrong leader, who rendered services in different capacities for the cause of Zeliangrong people living in different states and also for the cause of Naga people as a whole.
He was a leader who dreamt and desired for integration of Zeliangrong people to live under one umbrella.
His dedication and tireless efforts for the Zeliangrong people shall always be remembered in the days to come, it added.
The release further informed that a condolence meeting led by Union president Azang Rongmei was held at ZU (AMN) Head Office, Kakhulong Paona Bazar on Thursday during which ZU (AMN) and zonal leaders, church leaders, intellectuals, well-wishers, women leaders and Zeliangrong people shared the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family members and prayed to the almighty for his soul to rest in peace.
