Ksh Tama leaves Imphal to attend COP29

Imphal, November 09 2024:
Former up-adhyaksha Imphal East, Kshetri Tama left Imphal on Saturday to participate in the UN Climate Change Conference COP 29 at Baku Olympic Stadium in Azerbaijan from November 11 to 22 .
Representatives of different CSOs, non-government organisations, NGO, students, women leaders and stake holders from around 200 countries, are participating in the conference which is being held on the theme of 'ln Solidarity for a Green World' .
The Global Action Day will also be celebrated during this period, in addition to Asian Peoples Movement Deaf and Development's action shows on "Without Climate Change, there is no human rights, Tax the Rich not the Poor, Goals of SDG.
Speaking to newspersons before leaving Imphal, Kshetri Tama said that everybody has a critical role to play in dealing with climate change.
The wealthy ones also hold the major responsibility in this regard, but the consequences are borne by all.
She said that COP29 is an important conference with regard to dealing with climate change and the decisions taken during the same should be discussed and implemented by all.
