AR seizes ₹2 cr worth WY tablets in Moreh

Imphal, September 09 2024:
A routine patrolling party of 5 Assam Rifles, Bravo Company, stationed at Mission Veng, Moreh, seized a large quantity of suspected WY (World is Yours) tablets worth approximately Rs 2.29 crore in the international market.
The discovery was made on Monday during a perimeter patrol near L Phunchong village.
According to the report lodged by Subedar Jaswant Singh at Moreh police station, the patrol team came across an unattended grey TVS Jupiter vehicle without registration plates around 4:40 pm.
The vehicle, left by the roadside with its keys in the ignition, raised suspicion.
Upon thorough search of the vehicle, the patrol party discovered nine full and a torn packet suspected WY tablets, hidden in the undercarriage.
The total weight of the seized items was approximately 11.49 kilograms, including packaging materials.
The contraband, with an estimated value of Rs 2,29,84,000 in the international drug market, was handed over to the OC of Moreh police station for further investigation.
A case has been registered under ND & PS Act, and investigations are underway to trace the owner of the vehicle and those involved in the drug trafficking operation.
