Centre approves Urban Health Centre: MLA RK Imo

Imphal, September 07 2021: MLA RK Imo warmly welcomed 14 people including former corporator of ward no 8 K Tikendro, who joined Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee, by presenting simple gifts on Tuesday.

Speaking at ceremony held at his residence to welcome the 14, MLA Imo conceded that out of the last nine years as an elected representative, developmental works could not be done in the last one and half years due to Covid-19 pandemic situation.

Nevertheless, every developmental work will be completed before the next election, he assured.

"The constituency faced several inconveniences due to lack of health centre during Covid-19 pandemic.

A proposal sent to the central government for setting up of a health centre has been accepted and as such foundation stone for construction of an Urban Health Centre in Sagolband constituency will be laid soon," he said, while urging the people to help in developing the constituency.

Around 90 per cent of the roads in the constituency have already been repaired with only few streets and IVR yet to be completed, he said, while adding that there is no area without new water pipeline connection.

The water overhead tank con structed at Tera Boys will also be inaugurated in November/December.

There will be no shortage of water in the constituency once the water head tank is made functional, he added.

The function was also attended by SCPC president L Nobo, former corporators RK Jiten (W/N 7), G Bino (WN 8) and K Tikendro as presidium members.

A two-minute silence was also observed in honour of SCPC members T Amuba, H Anil and M Nodiyachand who passed away due to Covid-19 .
