Burmese infiltrators sent to jail

The Burmese (Myanmarese) nationals, who were picked up by the district police June 28, were produced before the principal magistrate on Thursday, according to a source.
After an enquiry was conducted about factual information relating to their entry into India, it has been learnt that most of them had entered India from Champhai (Mizoram) and thence to Churachandpur district for fear of the military aggression in Burma.
They stayed in rented houses at various places in Churachandpur.
After hearing their cases, 25 males were sent to Sajiwa Jail, Imphal while 35 females and 15 children were sent to women jail.
Meanwhile, three girls have been lodged in the Langthabal Observation Home and two boys in the Khawmawi Observation Home, the source added.
