Jiribam police rescue Vaiphei woman

Jiribam, November 04 2024:
Jiribam district police rescued a woman belonging to the Vaiphei community, and safely handed her over to the family members on Sunday.
According to Jiribam SP Kh Robinson, around 12.10 pm Sunday, volunteers of local Meira Paibi groups and CSOs informed that a 64-year old woman belonging to the Vaiphei community, named Hoinu, inadvertently crossed over to Babupara IB Leikai Ward No 6, Jiribam in an auto driven by one Abdul Hassan of Jirighat.
On receiving the report, a team of district police immediately arrived and rescued the woman, and safely handed her over to her family.
Robinson appreciated the Meira Paibi groups, CSOs and volunteers for co-operating with the police and appealed to all communities to work for peace.
