UKLF denies link with arrestees

Imphal, November 04 2023:
In response to reports regarding the arrest of seven individuals during a combing operation conducted in and around Moreh town in Tengnoupal district, the armed United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) has issued a statement clarifying that none of the arrested individuals have any affiliation with the Front.
The statement said that the arrested individuals are innocent civilians earning their livelihood as labourer.
UKLF has categorically denied any involvement in the current crisis and has urged the security forces to cease alleged mistreatment of innocent civilians in the border town.
The Front also called on the authorities to refrain from tarnishing their image while claiming that their cadres are staying put in the designated camp as mandated under SoO ground rules.
Mention may be made that in a joint operation carried out by central and state security forces on Saturday, seven militant cadres including a Myanmarese national were arrested along with explosive materials and military gears.
