Sulam villagers appeal for immediate relief

Residents of Sulam area in Chandel district sought immediate relief from State Government after Vomku road was hit by a massive landslide on July 31 .
On Tuesday, local people with the help of Ts Kanlun Anal and Sh Manglem Monsang, MDC of 13 Vomku and 11 Pantha conducted community works for clearing the roads.
Briefing media on the sidelines of the social service, MDC of 13-Vomku Ts Kanlun said 21 landslides cases were reported on NH 102.He said multiples crack lines have appeared in the vicinity of Vomku, Challong, Angbrasu, Libung and Larong Khullen triggering fear of sinking at any time.
Two suspension bridges between Larong Khullen and Libung villages and between Monsang Pantha and Thangkin had also collapsed.
Sh Manglem said that Chandel Vomku road is the life line of Sulam and Dingpi area.
Saying that the damaged road rendered the people of area 'isolated' from the rest of the district, he sought immediate help from the State Government.
