CCpur, November 01 2024:
With total lack of development works after May, 2023 by the government especially the elected representatives and the department concerned, condition of majority of the roads in Churachandpur town and nearby areas gone from bad to worse while there is no progress of some projects already implemented.
Deteriorating conditions of the Tiddim road passing through the heart of Churachandpur town and many inter-village roads in the district have become risky for commuters particularly two-wheeler riders.
Tiddim road extending over 7/8 km in Churachandpur town are filled with potholes mainly due to erosion of all the surface by monsoon rain and flash flood.
Starting from K Salbung village, roads in many areas like Molnom, Tuibong, Tuibong traffic point, Bijang, Churachandpur police station, Raybum High School and upward of Lanva bridge have large potholes and deep trenches posing threat to commuters.
As the commuters desperately try to negotiate such obstacles, head in collision or other minor accidents are common sight nowadays.
One Krishna Construction Company recently undertook the initiative of mending some potholes along Tiddim road with concrete cement but conditions of the roads remain dismal due to heavy traffic.
The sad part is that all the deep trenches which developed due to lack of maintenance have become deepened and widened at certain locations.
Even in the middle of the road, pond-like craters have developed, inconveniencing the commuters every day.
