Body threatens to block Thoubal Ml Road

Thoubal, November 30 2021: Irong Chesaba Development Forum (ICDF) senior executive Md Aurangazeb has warned that unless the road leading to Irong Chesaba, which is under Wabagai assembly constituency, is blacktopped by December 5, the organisation with the support of the public will block the Thoubal MI Road from the very next day for an indefinite period.

Addressing a press meet held at Irong Chesaba on Tuesday, Md Aurangazeb stated the people are facing serious difficulties as the said road stretch has been neglected for the last 4-5 years.

The condition of the road is so worse that it has caused death of two students in an accident, he recounted.

The authorities concerned had announced that the road will soon be repaired, but after some initial work of stone and soil laying it stopped without any blacktopping.

The work has remained suspended for 4-5 months now and the incomplete road is causing problems for the commuters, he said.

Md Aurangazeb also termed as very unfortunate that even after repeated appeals to the authority concerned, local MLA, contractors L Surjit and Th Surjit for blacktopping of the road no action has been taken.

He urged the chief minister N Biren and authorities concerned to blacktop the road at the earliest.
