Schools to reopen if situation stabilises: DC

Imphal West district deputy commissioner (DC) Th Kirankumar has revealed that the government has taken up necessary preparations to reopen schools as and when there is stability in the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the state.
Speaking on the sidelines of inspecting Covid vaccination programme organised by Imphal West DC at TG Higher Secondary School for its teaching and non-teaching staff on Monday, Kirankumar opined that the Covid situation in the state has improved a lot when compared to the recent past.
Informing that the vaccination drive in the district is progressing with more than 80 per cent of the eligible people already inoculated, he continued that the vaccination programme is being conducted to make sure that every teaching and non-teaching staff of schools is administered the vaccine so that schools could reopen any time once the virus cases are under control.
The vaccination programme was attended by Imphal West ADC Yumnam Nelson, DFWO Th Shantajit, Zone-1 ZEO Kh Sucheta, Wangoi ZEO K Bimolchand, and TG Higher Secondary School principal Ayekpam Sangita and vice principal Vmita Elangbam.
