Imphal, July 30 2022:
Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA) urged the State Government for strict implementation of The Manipur Private School (Registration and Regulation) Act 2017 to monitor the establishment and functioning of private schools in the State.
KSA in a press release expressed concern on the mushrooming of private schools across the State with vested interests sans recognition from authorities concerned putting at stake the future career of many students.
The student body maintained that numerous private schools are being established in the State without getting due recognition from the academic governing bodies namely Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) and Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) thereby posing serious hurdles in the future career of the students.
Despite such situations, the role played by the private schools in providing quality education as compared, to Government schools cannot be ignored, the release added.
Taking into account the recent issue of Children Trining School, Shungriphai in Kamjong district, KSA informed that some students of this school who got selected for admission in Jawaharlal Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ukhrul in Class VI are unable to complete the admission process since the ZEO concerned has denied to countersign in the transfer certificates of the students since the said school is not recognised by the Government.
In view of the above scenario, the student body has sought the attention of the authorities concerned to probe the matter and take stringent actions against the unrecognised schools in the State.
Further the student body appealed to all parents to carefiilly check whether the school is recognised or not by the relevant authorities before admitting their children to avoid unwanted outcomes in future.
