AMMSO decries assaults on Meitei Pangal

All Manipur Muslim Students' Organisation (AMMSO) has strongly condemned repeated assaults on the Meitei Pangal community by armed miscreants amidst the ongoing Crisis between the Meetei and Kuki communities.
Briefing the media at Manipur Press Club on Tuesday, AMMSO president Imtiyas Heibokmayum decried the recent incident in which truck driver Basir Ahmed Epham s/o Md Alauddin of Kwakta Sevla Ward No 3, was brutally assaulted without provocation by armed miscreants in Phubala area on Monday while returning from Imphal.
Imtiyas stated that similar assaults on Kwakta denizens by armed individuals occurred multiple times despite appeals to the authorities to prevent such incidents.
He stressed that the repeated assaults have left people of Kwakta distressed and shaken.
Imtiyas also questioned the role of the government, hinting at possible involvement or negligence in these incidents against daily wage workers and transporters.
He said that the inability of the government to control such unlawful activities, is equivalent to inviting a state-wide Proletarian Revolution.
He further reflected On skyrocketing prices of essential commodities severely affecting the daily wagers.
Under these challenging conditions, unauthorised collection of taxes on essential goods transported from Imphal to peripheral areas is causing additional hardships.
Imtiyas urged the government to take immediate action to stop such illegal taxation and reaffirm its authority to the people.
