Speaker Khemchand distributes hearing aid

Imphal, November 25 2021: Under the Assistance to Disable Person for Purchasing/Fitting of aids/Appliances (ADIP) scheme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, hearing aids were distributed to elderly citizens free of cost on Thursday.

The distribution of hearing aids was organised jointly by Ah Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech & Hearing Disabilities, Odisha; Poverty Development Society and SHEDA under the supervision of Singjamei A/C MLA and speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Y Khemchand at Singjamei Thongam Leikai.

Medical experts conducted check-up and distributed hearing aids to 300 elderly people of Singjamei A/C who have hearing problems.

Speaking at the function, Y Khemchand lauded the organisers for providing hearing aids to aged people free of cost and pointed out a hearing aid usually cost more than Rs 16,000.He assured of extending all possible help if organisers needed his help and support in future as well.
