Intending candidates intensify election campaigns

Khurai A/C MLA L Susindro on Friday launched and distributed 11 items to be used in his election campaign including a calendar that exhibits development activities he had taken up during his term.
The launch programme held at his Khurai Sajor Leikai residence was attended by BJP Khurai Mandal executives and people of the constituency.
The newly launched items including calendar, diary, pen, wondrous whistle, stole (lengyan), T shirt, umbrella, badge, flag and keychain were also distributed to the people.
Meanwhile, intending candidate in Khundrakpam AC Nongthombam Rajendro alias Boy inaugurated newly constructed buildings of Village Development Sporting Club and Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Lup at Pukhao Laipham, Khundrakpam.
The inaugural function was attended by Village Development Committee secretary Taorem Manglemjao Meitei, Chaokhat Khongthang Nupi Lup president Lairellakpam Tamu Devi and Village Development Sporting Club president Okram Okendro Meitei as the presidium members.
On the other-hand, in continuation of 'Eigi Emung, BJP Emung' campaign of BJP in Lamlai assembly constituency, the party's flag was hoisted at the residence of Pungdongbam Gram Panchayat pradhan Irungbam Sundari at Pungdongbam Maning Leikai on Thursday.
The programme was attended by-intending candidate of BJP from Lamlai AC Kh Ibomcha; Imphal East district election in-charge Anoop Singh Rajpurohit; BJP Lamlai Mandal general secretary L Shyam; Mahila Morcha Lamlai president A Jamini; Mahila Morcha Imphal East secretary Ph Khomdonbi and Lamlai Mandal president E Amitkumar among others.
In Bishnupur district, MLA Laishram Radhakishore launched 'Eigi Emung, BJP gi Emung' campaign in Oinam assembly constituency by hoisting of BJP flags in 35 houses under four booths, of the AC.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA L Radhakishore cautioned that political violence disturbs peace and harmony, apart from demeaning democracy.
While cautioning that candidates abetting violence will never win election, he also pointed out that everyone has the right to elect candidate of his/her choice.
"Let's ensure that elections are conducted peacefully and everyone can vote freely," he appealed.
The programme was also attended by BJP Oinam Mandal president Th Mangi Singh, Mahila in-charge Ng Sovana, booth presidents and several BJP workers.
