Intending candidates hold meetings, conduct rally, inaugurate

Imphal, December 22 2021: Intending candidate in Kshetrigao A/C Kh Lakhikumar alias Eepu organised a meeting for election committees of 40 polling booths in the constituency at his Kongpal Pong Lambi residence on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, Eepu pointed out that the role of MLA is not just constructing roads and bridges but also to look into the problems and inconveniences faced by the people.

He also expressed confidence that the BJP ticket for the Kshetrigao AC will be allotted to him.

The meeting was attended by Central Election Committee members of Eepu.

Meanwhile, as a part of his election campaign, intending candidate in Wangkhei A/C Arunkumar Thangjam launched a two-day long Padayatra' on Wednesday.

The march that began from Mantripukhri Pooja Lampak at around 10 am ended at New Checkon ground.

On Thursday, the march will begin from Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal and culminate at Hotel Imphal, North AOC.

Speaking on the sidelines of the march, Arunkumar explained that it was conducted so that people of the constituency stand to- gether for bringing change in Wangkhei A/C.Huge public turnout in the march signifies that people are against the present state of affairs in the constituency, which is like an orphan and they want a change, he added.

While disclosing that he seeking BJP ticket, Arunkumar said that he will surely get the ticket and contest the upcoming election in Wangkhei A/C as BJP candidate.

On the other-hand, Sekmai A/C MLA Heikham Dingo on Wednesday inaugurated a Meira Shang (shed for women vigilantes) of Apunba Nupi Lup at Lairenkabi Maning Leikai and distributed labour and CMHT health cards.

Speaking at the event, MLA Dingo contended that inauguration of several developmental projects and black toppings of road in the constituency is not to take political mileage but to complete works impended due to outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

Several development projects will also be inaugurated in the coming days, he assured.

The inauguration function was attended by Mayanglangjing ZP K Sohodeva, Lairenkabi ward number 2 member S Rajeshwor, ward number 1 member N Bhagirot, ward number 4 member M Rajesh and Apunba Nupi Lup Lairenkabi president Ch Pakpi among others.

Similarly, Mayang Imphal MLA Kongkham Robindro inaugurated Konchak Mamang Leikai playground developed under MLA Local Area Development Fund.

Speaking at the function, Robindro appealed to all for ensuring peaceful election in Mayang Imphal A/C and urged people of the constituency, whether they are BJP or Congress supporters, to be understandable and responsible citizens.

Candidates should also stop inciting workers to quarrel and ft ght.

Let the voters elect the candidate of their own will and choice, he exhorted.

MLA Robindro assured of installing flood lighting system in the newly inaugurated playground so that sports events could be held after dusk.
