Minister Valte exhorts artisans

TA&H minister Vung-zagin Valte has stated that pottery and clay modelling with value addition can become a viable income generator for artisans.
Speaking as chief guest at the closing function of the three-day skill upgradation/capacity building workshop on pottery and clay modelling organised by Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Manipur and Imphal Art College at TRI campus on Monday, minister Vungzagin Valte stressed the need for value addition to pottery and clay modelling products so that it can be marketed in other states.
He expressed hope that the workshop would help the trainees become professional and increase their income generation.
The programme held as part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebration was also attended by TA&H additional secretary Kengoo Zuringla as president with additional chief secretary Letkhogin Haokip, additional secretary DK Thangboi and ST Commission member Tara Manchin present as guests of honour.
During the function, certificates were distributed to the trainees by the dignitaries.
