Imphal, February 22 2024:
While calling the Education Department irresponsible department for failure to fill up the vacant post of secretary of Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BSEM) till date, Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) has charged the state government of neglecting the welfare of student community as it has neither filled up the vacant post nor extended tenure of the then official even though the HSLC examination is at the doorstep.
In a release, SSUM publicity and information secretary Salam Iboyaima Singh urged the government to do the needful for conducting the examination considering its sensitiveness due to the present prevailing ethnic strife.
SSUM has been maintaining silence in view of the unrest situation, but as the examination is just round the corner, the government should appoint a secretary or extend office term of the previous secretary so as to ensure smooth conduct of the examination, he proposed.
