NEP will reform country's education system: Dr Ranjan

Education Department has felicitated Dr RK Ranjan Singh on his recent induction as the Minister of State for External Affairs and Education in the Union council of ministers.
A reception ceremony was organised by the department at the Multipurpose Hall of the State Centre for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) on Saturday.
Speaking as chief guest, Rk Ranjan maintained that it is a big opportunity for the north east states to have five ministers in the union council of ministers as a landmark record and described as fortunate that he is one of the ministers from this region even if was elected for first time in the 17th Lok Sabha election, 2019.He said that the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020' is fully a policy of reformation in the education system in the country.
It is a vision that our Prime Minister has been looking ahead.
There are a lot of prospects and scopes which we can expect from this new education policy.
It is also a reformation policy, he added.
Explaining about the new education policy, RK Ranjan said that it has identified various areas through which education and employment can be linked up and go hand in hand.
Vocational education in schools and higher education has also been focussed with due importance.
Employability rate will also be made increased with the introduction of this new policy.
RK Ranjan also informed that sport will also be introduced as a subject to schools and higher education.
Speaking as the functional president, Education minister S Rajen noted that there have been many changes made in the education sector by the present government.
The rate of enrolment in the government schools has increased manifold during the recent academic session.
School buildings have been renovated, construction of new classrooms and blocks have been taken up under the School Fagathansi Mission.
Equipment and other infrastructures have also been provided on priority, Rajen maintained.
He said that the department of education has been working for the effective implementation of the NEP-2020 for which a Task Force has been constituted under the thairmanship of commissioner Education.
Sub Task Force has also been constituted and assignments have also been distributed, he added.
Education commissioner M Harekrishna, vice-chancellor of Dhana-manjuri University Dr Rajmuhon, director of Education (S) L Nandakumar Singh, BOSEM and COHSEM chairmen, director of Language Planning and Implementation Th Chitra Devi and other officials of education department also attended the reception function.
