Pune Ganesh Mandals aid displaced citizens

Imphal, January 20 2025:
In an act of solidarity, over 35 Pune Ganesh Mandals, in collaboration with Pune Parivar and other organisations, have extended support to people displaced by the qngoing violence in the state.
Around 60,000 people are currently living in temporary shelters in the state due to the unrest.
As part of the initiative, around 5,000 blankets and 2,000 sets of utensils were distributed to those in need during the relief programme, organised by Pune Parivar Sanstha, at the Maratha Chamber of Commerce on Tilak Road.

The event was attended by Swami Govinddev Giri Maharaj, union MoS for civil aviation and cooperative Muralidhar Mohol, MP Medha Kulkarni, senior journalist Vijay Kuvalekar, and Rajesh Sawhney of ISHAN SETU Trust.
MLA Th Shyamkumar received the aid on behalf of the displaced citizens.
Rajesh Sawhney, who initiated the effort through Pune Parivar Sanstha president advocate Pratap Pardeshi, said the initiative reflects the shared bond of unity, with citizens in Pune stepping forward to help their brothers and sisters in Manipur.
This act of generosity underscores the spirit of compassion and cooperation transcending regional boundaries, he added.
