Farmers decry discrepancies in fertilizer distribution

Imphal, July 18 2022: Farmers of Polling Station 16/40 in Sekmai Assembly Constituency have alleged discrepancies in distribution of fertilizers provided by the Government in the area.

The above allegation was raised by the farmers of the area while addressing media persons during a press meet held at Manipur Press Club today.

One of the farmers named Ningthoujam Khomei informed that it has come to their notice that fertilizers have already been provided by the Government for the farmers of Tairenpokpi Loukol also known as Khonga Khul Loukol of Polling Station 16/ 40.However the fertilizers are not distributed to the farmers equally, he alleged.

He also maintained that the farmers are going through a grim phase due to non-availability of fertilizers and urged the authorities concerned to look into the matter at the earliest in the interest of the farmers.

N Khomei also claimed when they contacted the fertilizers agent in connection with the discrepancies in fertilizer distribution, the agents informed that 'there is no share of fertilizer for you since you have not voted in our favour' .

He further stated that fertilizers are distributed to the farmers of other areas equally.
