Founder dissolves HPC (D), secretary refutes claim

The founder cum commander-in-chief of Hmar People's Convention-Democracy (HPC-D) general headquarters, LK Hmar on Tuesday declared dissolution of the organisation.
In a statement, LK Hmar recounted that HPC (D) was set up with an aim to bring better integration and harmony among the Hmar community.
However, instead of serving the needs of the community , it has become a factor for the many issues that has cropped up Within the community.
"I am speechless, dumbfounded, ashamed and hurt to the core", he said in the statement, adding "the basis of the HPC (D) GHQ was to preserve unity and to lead and help those in needs, but this seems to have been lost like Sura (a legendary hero in Hmar folktales) lost his whistling tune".
The statement asserted that after the dissolution of the party no one is allowed to use the name of the organisation and anybody who defies the warning will be deemed as doing it at their own perils.
Meanwhile, HPC-D information and publicity secretary Stanley Hmar dismissed the statement by LK Hmar as baseless and fictitious and said that the Convention has not considered it worth to be taken as true.
He maintained HPC-D was founded in 1995 with a set goal to be achieved, which is the liberation of the Hmar community from any forms of subjugation.
Stanley then warned that KL Hmar will be held responsible for any problems among the Hmar community and the HPC (D) arising out of his statement.
