SAN holds 1st graduation ceremony

The first graduation ceremony of the first and second batches of BSc nursing graduates of the Shija Academy of Nursing (SAN) was held at the auditorium of the Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS) on Thursday with Shija Foundation as the hosts.
Addressing the gathering, Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) chairman cum managing director Dr Kh Palin called the ceremony moment of pride for the academy, which was established with the objective to improve healthcare sector in the state.
Highlighting the importance of nurses in a hospital and the healthcare sector, Dr Palin said that nurses are the backbone of a hospital as they serve the patients while facing numerous challenges.
He wished the fresh graduates a great career ahead.
Degree certificates were awarded to 55 fresh graduates of the academy.
Meritorious awards were also presented to Moxmie Khuraijam of first batch, who secured 8th position, and Oinam Priyanka of second batch, who secured 7th position in the nursing graduate examinations conducted by the Manipur University.
Manipur University registrar professor W Chandbabu, Shija Foundation president professor Ch Ibohal, and SAN principal Dr Ch Babita attended the event as chief guest, president and chairperson respectively.
SAHS director Dr M Amuba, Manipur Nursing Council registrar Dr A Jamuna and Shija Foundation secretary Th Suresh were also present as guests of honour.
