Army flags off 10-day tour for students

Imphal, October 14 2024:
Indian Army organised a 10-day 'National Integration Tour' under Operation Sadbhavana for nine 'youth ambassadors' from Manipur with general officer commanding (GOC), Red Shield Division flagging off the tour from Koirengei on Monday.
In release, PRO Defence informed that the 'youth ambassadors' will visit and explore Kolkata, Tawang and Shillong, while experiencing the rich cultural heritage and diversity of the region.
The tour will also cover Army establishments in these cities, iconic Victoria Memorial, participate in a Heritage Walk at Fort William, and the HQ Eastern Command.
In Tawang, they will visit Sela Pass, Sela Lake, Tawang Monastery and Madhuri Lake and pay tribute at Bum La and Tawang War Memorial in honour of the soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the 1962 Indo-China War.
The release continued that the last phase of the tour will be in Shillong, where the group will visit scenic places various places of interest in the heart of Meghalaya.
The group is then scheduled to meet to Governor of Meghalaya before the culmination of the tour on October 23 in Imphal.
