'Kwak Tanba' ritual performed

The annual traditional ritual of 'Kwak tanba' of the day Meetei community was conducted at Wangkhei'Angom Leikai with Manipur's titular king and Rajya Sabha MP Leishemba Sanajaoba leading the ceremony on Sunday.
The ritual is performed every year on the 10th lunar day of Mera month of the Meetei calendar.
As in the past, the ritual organised by Sana Konung (Royal Palace), Utra Shanglen was performed by 'Lanching Purel' Athokpam Ojendro.
The ritual included rites and ceremonies, along with performance of traditional dance and music.
Functionaries of Sana Konung, priests and priestesses, King of Angom clan and others attended the ritual ceremony.
The Mera Kwak Tanba ceremony was also organised by the Cheirak Loishang of the Shri Shri Govindajee Temple Board at the temple complex.
