BJP observes Patriots' Day, holds rally

Imphal, August 13 2022: As elsewhere in the state and outside, BJP Manipur Pradesh observed Patriots' Day on Saturday with a rally taken out before the main observance function held at Thambal Shanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek here.

Led by BJP Manipur Pradesh A Sharda Devi, state BJP leaders and workers took out a rally from the party's office till Hicham Yaicham-pat, Yaiskul Janmasthan where they paid homage to the statue of Bir Tikendrajit.

MLA Usham Deben, organisation secretary Giri, general secretary P Premananda, general secretary Deben, secretaries Inaocha and K Bikram and media in-charge Ch Chidananda also took part in the rally.

Sharda Devi told media persons on the sidelines of the rally that August 13 is the most important and proud day for the people of Manipur as it was on this day in 1891 that brave sons of the soil Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of Manipur.

She also expressed hope that Patriots' Day will be observed at every household of Manipur in future and this would happen when younger generation have the patriotic spirit.
