Thoubal, October 12 2024:
A joint action committee (JAC) was formed on Saturday in connection with the abduction of one Akoijam Angou of Thoubal Awangleikai Sanjembam Leirak on September 30 from near Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School, Uripok by unknown persons who came in a black Bolero SUV.
The JAC demanded that the government trace whereabouts Ak Angou and rescue him by October 16 failing which it will launch various forms of agitations in collaboration with CSOs.
Addressing the media on Saturday, JAC co-convener Sanjembam Sorojini expressed strong resentment that even after 13 days of the family lodging complaint report to the police and appealing to organisation concerned involved in the abduction to set him free, there has been no response from either the government or any organisation.
While reminding that it is the bounden duty of the government to protect life and property of thecitizens, she demanded that the government galvanise all available resources to trace and rescue Ak Angou within five day or face intense agitation.
